JAFZA bitumen terminal got double capacity by its new operator OPG

Ocean Petro Gulf (OPG) has hired an oil products and bitumen storage facility terminal in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA).

JAFZA belongs to energy logistics firm Tristar and in this way OPG will be the operator now on.

Having development plans including construction of 10,000t bitumen storage facility, OPG is willing to expand its domain.

The bitumen storage tank construction is agreed by Tristar while it augment the opportunities to boost demand in the region. Now the terminal storage capacity is 11,000mt capable of importing/exporting around 350,000mt a year.

This terminal which was owned by Shell, possessed by Tristar in 2022 and now has been hired by OPG.

It’s a long-term lease agreement under which OPG starts its activity as an operator from October for unrevealed duration.

This agreement also included polymer modified bitumen (PMB) plant with a capacity of 90,000 tons per year, a drum filling facility, an emulsion plant, and a testing laboratory for both bitumen and PMB.
