New Steel Drum

This is the most popular, and the safest packaging used for bitumen. the new steel drum is produced in different sizes, considering the user needs and user market standards.

There are two types of drum which are common in the market, namely normal long drum 180kg(±2.5kg) and normal short drum 150kg(±2.5kg). Other types such as the long new steel drum 200kg, the short drum (big lid) 156kg etc. are also used in some destinations.

Jumbo-Bag

Jumbo bag, is a kind of packaging that is used largely these days regarding its advantages in terms of cost, easy filling and discharging, low weight, disposable inner layer, etc.

Jumbo bags are mostly produced in two sizes; 300kg and 1 ton. Each 20’ and 40’ container contains respectively about 18 and 38 jumbo bags with pallets and metal cages. This kind of packaging largely is used in some like USA, China, Brazil, and others.

Flexi Tank

Flexi is a type of packing bitumen and other liquid petrochemicals, with a capacity of 14000 – 20000 liters. Each flexi tank a contain 20mt bitumen per 20’ container. 40’ container cannot be used for carrying flexi tanks since flexi should be enclosed completely in its 4 sides. While this kind of packing is economical and environment friendly, its loading, unloading, and transporting process must be done carefully by expert people.

Bulk

Even considering high storage charges, bulk is the most economical and the fastest way of shipment when you want to do large quantities of bitumen using a shipping vessel. the common capacity range for bitumen bulk vessels is between 1000-50,000MT, while the farther your destination is, the more your vessel capacity would be.
